Bike4Chai began in 2010 as a new idea: roughly 40 cyclists completing a 180-mile ride from Lakewood to Camp Simcha, each raising funds for children battling serious illness and their families. Our involvement began in year one and continued for years as the editorial team behind their event films.
The Challenge
In that first year, there was no budget for video coverage. For a brand-new fundraising event, that gap matters. Video is how donors feel the mission, how potential riders decide to sign up, and how an organization builds momentum year over year. Without footage from year one, there is nothing to build on for year two.
Our Approach
We were riding in that first event ourselves. But we made sure the cameras were there — and that what got captured could be used. That year-one coverage became the foundation for everything that followed. In subsequent years, PTS Films served as the editorial team behind Bike4Chai’s event films, shaping footage into films that communicated the ride, the riders, and the mission behind it.
The Result
Bike4Chai has grown into one of the community’s largest annual fundraising events, raising many millions of dollars over the years. Professional video has been part of every ride, helping expand the event’s reach to new donors and inspire new riders each year.
